New York a gogo

Gavin plays NY’s ‘Moda’ House of Fashion for a private gig the weekend on October 26th.
The Heads perform shows in venues across North America, the UK and Europe with Johnette Napolitano performing lead vocals and “Blast” Murray playing lead guitar, including a memorable concert at Webster Hall in New York on November 18, featuring Johnette Napolitano, Debbie Harry, Maria McKee, Gavin Friday, Gordon Gano, and Malin Anneteg performing with Jerry, Blast, Chris and Tina.

Gavin leaves Island Records

Island Records and Gavin Friday have parted company. The press office of Island Records in London has just confirmed that Gavin is no longer with the label.

Dublin Summer in the City festival

Gavin, Nick Cave and Pat McCabe will be appearing at Whelan’s on Wexford Street, Dublin on September 6, 1996. Doors open at 6.30 pm.

Crossing Border festival

Gavin’s performance at the Crossing Border festival on September 15 will consist of 40 mins spoken word, and a 40 min accoustic show (just Gavin, Maurice and a piano). Gavin will perform a selection of songs from his three solo albums.
The song Angel is likely to feature on the soundtrack of Romeo and Juliet, remixed by Nellee Hooper.

Final show of the Shag Tobacco tours

On September 9, 1996, Gavin will play his last Shag Tobacco gig (and the last gig for a long time) at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin.

On September 15, he will be at the Crossing Border festival for a special spoken word performance.

Gavin and Maurice have recently parted company with White Street Management.
