We’ve added official Gavin Friday merchandise, T-shirts and signed prints, to our shop.
There are two different T-shirts to choose from. We have a ‘DOG’ T-shirt featuring a styled image of a Boxer dog on the front and cross on the back. The other T-shirt, ‘LIVE’, features the ‘dictator’ picture of Gavin Friday by photographer Maciej Pestka on the front, and ‘catholic’ lettering on the back. The signed print features the same ‘dictator’ image. Orders and delivery are handled by Firebrand Live.
Gavin Friday has been added to the bill of Electric Picnic 2012. The arts & music festival takes place on August 31 – September 2, in Stradbally, Ireland.
Other artists on the bill include Patti Smith, The Cure, The Killers, Elbow, Sigur Rós, Christy Moore, Orbital, Hot Chip, The xx, Richard Hawley, The Roots, Ed Sheeran, Bat for Lashes, The Horrors, Azealia Banks, Roots Manuva, Bell X1, Grizzly Bear and Glen Hansard.

Gavin Friday will play live in Bruges, Belgium this summer as part of the Klinkers Intiem concert series. The show takes place on Wednesday, August 8.
The Klinkers concert is staged on the inner court of “Gruuthuse” city palace in the historical city centre of Bruges.
The last time Gavin Friday played Bruges was July 13, 1996 when he headlined the Cactus Festival. Festival director Patrick Keersebilck picked Gavin performance among his personal highlights and remembers it as follows: “One of the most beautiful concerts at Cactus, if you ask me. In a way Gavin Friday’s performance personified the identity of our festival.”

Gavin Friday will play live at the OLT 2012 festival (Openluchttheater Rivierenhof) in Antwerp, Belgium on August 1st. Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) is also on the bill.
Gavin is excited to return to Antwerp so soon after his triumphant show at the Crossing Border festival in 2011.
Located in Antwerp’s Rivierenhof park in the Deurne district, the annual Openluchttheater Festival is one of the city’s biggest summer draws.

Gavin Friday has composed music for a new documentary about Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn by director Klaartje Quirijns.
“Anton Corbijn Inside Out” is an intimate and revealing portrait of an influential artist and the result of almost four years of filming by Quirijns. The documentary features appearances by many of the artists Corbijn has worked with including Lou Reed, George Clooney, U2, Metallica and Depeche Mode.
Quirijns calls Corbijn “the kingmaker of the modern gods, the way he has defined the image of the likes of U2 and Depeche Mode and has given them the face that the public has come to know.”
The score for “Anton Corbijn Inside Out” was composed by by Gavin Friday, with Jolyon Vaughan Thomas and additional composition by Herbie Macken. Quirijns and Corbijn had approached Gavin when he played at the Crossing Border festival in The Hague late 2011 to request his involvement:

Major recording artists including Gavin Friday, The Edge (U2), Ron Wood (Rolling Stones), Gemma Hayes, Cathy Davey, Mik Pyro (Republic of Loose) and Liam O’Maonlai (Hot House Flowers) are creating performances for a new iPhone/iPad app called WholeWorldBand.
WholeWorldBand app is an interactive tool for iPhone 4/4s and iPad2 created by former 10CC man (and director of Gavin’s ‘Able’ video) Kevin Godley and Andy Wood of Hypergallery and Cubic Motion.
The app lets you create music with other musicians and music fans around the world in both sound and pictures. WholeWorldBand app will be available to download from the iTunes store from March 2012.
