The Kirsten Sheridan film Disco Pigs (2001) for which Gavin and Maurice did the score is out on DVD this month. You can pre-order it from BlackStar. Gavin has a little cameo in this film too. No soundtrack album was released for this film, so this DVD is the currently the only way to hear the score.
Gavin and Maurice are back in the studio after the holiday break and should be making an appearance on our forum later this week. [ update 10/2: ok, they didn't.]
Gavin’s track on Howie B’s new album will be out in April/May. He has covered an old soul classic (originally by “Babs & Ernie”), called ‘Satisfied’, coupled with 70′s pop classic ‘Rock On’. The track, recorded in ‘Horse’ studios and mixed in Windmill Lane might even be a single.
‘Disco Pigs’ was finished just before Xmas and will get its debut screening as part of the Berlin Film Festival.
Gavin will be on Irish TV next week as a a guest reviewer on John Kelly’s arts show ‘The View’. It will go out on Tuesday, Feb 6 at 11.00 pm on RTE.
Later in the year, he will be recording Peter and the Wolf for a CD release.

“Met Gav last night after the Lou Reed show in the Olympia in the company of Guggi, Adam, Bono & the Edge. Confirming that the new album “is nearly ready to go” he said that himself and Maurice would be playing a number of low key gigs in Dublin in October and November.”
MCA will be releasing the soundtrack to ‘The Boxer’ in the US on February 24, 1998.
A double spoken-word CD, “Closed on account of Rabies” – featuring the work of writer Edgar Allen Poe, read by Jeff Buckley, Iggy Pop, Christopher Walken, Gabriel Byrne, Marianne Faithful, Diamanda Galas, Deborah Harry Gavin Friday and others and produced by Hal Willner will be released next month. Gavin’s contribution is the poem ‘For Annie’.
The release of the single ‘Angel’ has been postponed until October 2. It will be released in 12″ and CD formats. The 12″ will include remixes by Tim Simenon, Howie B and Danny G. The CD includes two extra tracks: ‘A Thousand Years’ and ‘Macushla’.

Paul Oakenfield has recorded ‘I Want to Live’ with Grace. The single was released on September 11, 1995.
Shag Tobacco has hit the UK shops today. The album is expected to be in the European shops by the end of this week.
Dutch newspaper The Volkskrant have a half page interview with Gavin in today’s issue. A showcase tour is expected to commence September 1.
For marketing reasons, the release of Shag Tobacco has been postponed until late August 1995.
Gavin undergoes minor surgery on both hands.
