Gavin Friday’s song Lord I’m Comin’ from his 2011 album ‘catholic’ is on the official soundtrack of “This Must Be the Place”, a 2011 film directed by Paolo Sorrentino. It stars Sean Penn and Frances McDormand as well as Gavin’s goddaughter Eve Hewson. Gavin’s song “Lord I’m Comin'” opens and closes the film.

Named after the 1983 Talking Heads song from their fifth album “Speaking in Tongues”, “This Must Be the Place” also features five new songs with lyrics by William Oldham and music by David Byrne. They are sung by Irish singer-songwriter Michael Brunnock.

The story deals with Cheyenne (Sean Penn), a middle-aged wealthy rock star who becomes bored in his retirement and takes on the quest of finding his father’s tormentor, a Nazi war criminal who is a refugee in the United States.

“This Must Be The Place” is an Italian production with co-producers in France and Ireland. Principal photography began in August 2010. Filming took place in Ireland, Italy, as well as the states of Michigan, New Mexico and New York. The film played in competition at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
