Rejoyce Dublin has asked Irish directors to film extracts from Ulysses. Director Shimmy Marcus (Headrush, Aidan Walsh – Master of the Universe) decided to focus on racism and anti-semitism. He filmed Gavin and Maurice and members of the Friday/Seezer ensemble busking ‘Fatal Flower Garden’ (formerly known as The Jew’s Daughter) on Moore Street. The 9 minute film will be shown on Bloomsday.

Other guests include Louis le Brocquay, Gay Byrne, Senator David Norris and the British Ambassador. Gavin will be reading an extract from The Jew’s Daughter, a 13th century ‘murder ballad’, one of the songs from Joyce’s Ulysses, and will then perform a 1920’s version of this song: ‘Fatal Flower Garden’. Venue/Time: North Great George’s Street, Dublin, from 8am to 11.30am. Breakfast will be served during the event. Admission: €12
