Bloomsday Breakfast 2002

Gavin’s been invited to speak at the James Joyce Centre’s Bloomsday event (‘Guinness Bloomsday Breakfast’) on Sunday June 16th, in Dublin: ‘….a variety of people distinguished in their fields of arts, academia, business, media and politics’. Other guests include Louis le Brocquay, Gay Byrne, Senator David Norris and the British Ambassador. Gavin will be reading an extract from The Jew’s Daughter, a 13th century ‘murder ballad’, one of the songs from Joyce’s Ulysses, and will then perform a 1920’s version of this song: ‘Fatal Flower Garden’. Venue/Time: North Great George’s Street, Dublin, from 8am to 11.30am. Breakfast will be served during the event. Admission: €12
