Gavin Friday’s Peter & the Wolf has received three nominations for the prestigious Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, including ANIMATED SPECIAL, SHOW OPEN *, and the CHILDREN’S PERSONALITY category. In this last category, Gavin finds himself in extraordinary company, competing with none other than Meryl Streep.

Peter & the Wolf, an animated adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev’s iconic work, blends visual artistry with musical storytelling. The project saw Gavin Friday narrate the reimagined classic tale with The Friday-Seezer Ensemble performing Prokofiev score, newly arranged by Maurice Seezer and Gavin Friday. The artwork seen throughout the film is based on original illustrations by U2’s Bono.

The project features Gavin’s unique creative touch as narrator and contributor, offering a modern twist to a timeless tale touching upon themes of growing up and loss. The film, aired on Max, has resonated with audiences young and old, showcasing innovation and imagination in children’s entertainment.

* The “Show Open” category at the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards recognizes excellence in the design, animation, and production of a program’s opening sequence. This includes the creative elements that set the tone for the show, such as visual storytelling, music, and overall design. It’s essentially the first impression a program makes on viewers and often highlights its unique style and themes.
