Dutch photographer, music video and film director Anton Corbijn who has worked extensively with Depeche Mode, U2 and REM among many others, took the striking photos used in the artwork for Gavin Friday’s first solo album Each Man Kills The Thing He Loves. He also took promo shots for Adam ‘n’ Eve.
In April 1996, Gavin opened Corbijn’s exhibition at Torch Gallery in Amsterdam and was presented with Corbijn’s new book ‘Star Trak’.
Gavin Friday appeared in the 2009 documentary Shadow Play: The Making of Anton Corbijn alongside Bono, Michael Stipe, Brandon Flowers, Dave Gahan and others.
In 2012, Gavin Friday (with Jolyon Vaughan Thomas and additional composition by Herbie Macken) wrote the score for Anton Corbijn Inside Out, an intimate and revelatory portrait of the photographer by Dutch director Klaartje Quirijns.
