Kate Ellis

Kate Ellis is a freelance cellist based in Dublin working extensively with contemporary, classical and improvising musicians. She is a member of the CRASH ENSEMBLE and tours with the KARAN CASEY BAND. Kate also performs with Nick Roth’s Yurodny and Francesco Turrisi’s Tarab.

Kate Ellis first worked with Gavin Friday with the Crash Ensemble, performing with Gavin Bryars at the O’Reilly theatre in Dublin in 2005. Since then she has worked with him on the Tomorrow Belongs To Me show, the recording of the 2011 album ‘catholic’ and subsequent tours.

Kate is co-curator of KALEIDOSCOPE, a monthly night of music at Dublins Odessa Club.
